Sylvi has passed BH Test by Finnish Working Dog Club this weekend --- congratulation Vera and Sylvi! Your co-operation is sooo nice ;-)
Sylvi will be mated in autumn 2009 (male not decided yet), and more information will be provided in the litter section soon :-)

National field trial in Iisalmi: we were eliminated in this interesting trial (result A0) which was conducted with the help of pointers, but Brando was so convicting still that he was selected Gun's Choice :-)

--- Brando continues his stable working in field trials: In Myrans result A2 (very good). This time the place in the final was lost out in a pretty demanding task in water with a wounded duck, which he luckily finally could still pick up --Tuisku and Esa again A1 & SERT -congratulations :) Results here
--- Three sons of Brando have recently passed the Finnish retriever test: Jummi-Jammin Clint Eastwood, J-J Al Pacino and J-J Robert De Niro - congratulations and thank you owners/handlers for your activity :)

--- We attended a B-test in Kalix, Sweden. Brando got a very nice result: Ekl1 --> Svenskt Jaktchampion, and thus he is now FIN & S KVA Polarfischer Brando :)
--- Sylvi and Vera with an excellent style ALO1 (beginner class excellent) in a cold game test, and Ilona & Annu made their debyt inthe same cold game test with a result ALO3 (good) --congratulations!!

Our team (Labrador Club) was placed second in the team working test in Pyhtää. We had three black male labradors in our team, namely Brando, Eagle Owl's Gwynn (handler Tuula Halonen) & Namusillan Varpushaukka (handler Ville Seppälä). Thanks for the nice day ;))

3. FIN KVA FIN KVA-FT NM-05 Usvalammen Roihu & Esa Valkonen
Thanks for all the people who have helped me with Brando! The weekend was perfect ;). Tobina Nyman and Jyry Tuominen from Finland and Birgitta Staflund-Wiberg and Reine Hansson from Sweden judged the test. Brando got the place in final with the result VOI2 (very good) on Saturday. Altogether 24 dogs were qualified for this competition, and seven dogs continued on Sunday in the final.

Starting of the duck hunting season: Brando got about 15 retrieves and passed the practical hunting test (result NKM1) --> he is now FIN KVA Polarfischer Brando (Finnish field trial champion in cold game)

What a weekend:
Brando got 2 x first prize (excellent) in two separate cold game tests, so all three "excellents" for the FIN working champion title (FIN KVA) are there...
only practical hunting test in August is waiting :).
Furthermore, many dogs were competing on Saturday and Sunday for the Finnish Hunting Retriever Club Champion 2008, and we succeeded to win this competition with the special prize for the Best Co-operation :)).

In the far northermost working test in the world in Rantsila (Finland), Brando continued his nice working in specific surroundings on a restorated peat bog area (peat and peat, deep and low water, reed, grass, bushes, game, stones etc) and won the winner class there (VOI1 excellent, first place).
Sylvi & Vera got ALO3 (good) in their first working test in the beginner class :-).

After IWT Brando and me have concentrated (without forgetting the basic training!) on gold game tests in Finland.
Our first test in the Winner Class resulted in VOI2 (very good) result in Kaatamo on 15th June, the second gave VOI2 result in Valkeala on 29th June….. and yesterday….. Brando was great in the winner class in Siilinjärvi: VOI1 (excellent), memorable comments by the judge Timo Väisänen and Gun’s Choice :-)

Our first start in winner class in working test Espoo: VOI2 (very good).
Partial failure in long line marking dropped us from the possibility for the VOI1-result, but here we go forward ;)

Last weekend Brando was in field trial in Hyvinkää (and I had a horrible flu!), but he unexpectedly ran in during the first drive, after a wounded bird, and thus we didn´t get any result --

Inca got two nice male puppies on 21 st February, and Tuisku was in ultrasound: puppies will be born in late March :-)
|
|
Vamppi x Brando puppies were tested by the Guide Dog School, and they all got really nice marks! You can read more about puppy testing here

Brando's and Vamppi's - Pilens Buffy - litter is here: ten puppies (5 females, 5 males) were born in four hours last night - all puppies and mother are doing fine!
